It’s spring, the clocks have sprung forward, the light night’s are upon us, the daffodils are flowering, and the weather is getting warmer. Okay that last bit might be a bit exaggerated. But there is no doubt, spring is here and winter is well and truly behind us for another year. So why the hell am I reviewing a Down Parka Jacket by Nigel Cabourn?? Well wait a minute, there is a bit of logic here, and you can thank me later.
Let’s get a few things straight here. First off we have a collaboration between Nigel Cabourn and Karrimor. That’s Nigel Cabourn the king of vintage and workwear, and Karrimor, makers of ground breaking outdoor gear. Together they make a great combination, and the K100 range is testament to that.
We’ve established the level of quality with this garment, but what I’ve omitted is the price. Originally £900, if you head over to Van Mildert’s right now you can pick one of these up for the princely sum of £270, thats a saving of £630. Pretty good eh? Well it gets better. Go to Van Mildert’s site before midnight on Friday and you get an extra 20% off, taking the price down to a measly £216. Think about that one for a second. Not only will you be getting a top top quality jacket, but you will be saving enough money to buy yourself a second hand car, or a months mortgage, or well, maybe another jacket or two.
Once you’ve made your purchase, the package arrives, you try on the parka and pose in the mirror for a good twenty minutes, still finding it hard to believe you bagged such a bargain, stick it away in your wardrobe ready for the winter weather, safe in the knowledge this jacket will be keeping you toasty for years to come.
The Down Parka is available now in three colours, black/navy, bone and, my personal favourite survival orange.
Head over to Van Midert’s site right now, and remember you can thank me later.
