When you get an invite to a party and it states the dress code is smart casual, what does that really mean? I suppose it all depends on your interpretation of smart casual I suppose. It can mean anything really, as long as you dont turn up looking like a scruffy bugger with nasty looking ripped destressed jeans and pointy loafer shoes.
One Jacket that definitely falls into the smart casual catagory, and would look great at any event is the Knutsford Bomber Jacket. This Made in England zipped jacket is made from moleskin, so best keep it out of the rain if you can. It has two large front buttoned pockets and a concealed zip, giving it a very smart appearance. The elasticated cuffs and waist continue the smarty appearance of this jacket.
It comes in three colours and though the Navy and Black are very nice the Khaki takes it to a whole new level, and is the winner for me. The bomber jacket comprises a concealed YKK zip-through front fastening, a classic ribbed bomber style collar and two front buttoned pockets. Fully lined in a soft-textured Knutsford-branded cotton fabric, the zip bomber jacket is complete with an internal button pocket, locker loop, and elasticated ribbed cuffs.

Oh and did I mention they are Made in England ? The moleskin is the finest 100% UK woven cotton moleskin, and is softer than a baby’s arse, as the saying goes !!

  1. These jackets look really nice. I think you’re right by saying these would be the ideal jackets for a smart casual dress party. These will be a great edition to my other jackets. I’m not too certain on the green but the black looks slick. What jeans or shoes do you think would go along neatly with the jacket?

Hi Vinnie, a nice pair of ED55 Edwin jeans and Clark wallabees would be ideal with this jacket, definitely no distressed jeans and dress shoes a definite no no.
