Engineered Garments, an in house brand of Nepenthes, was started in 1999 by Daiki Suzuki. The name comes from a pattern makers comments that the clothes were more engineered than designed.
Daiki cut his cloth so to speak at Woolrich where he started off as a buyer in Japan. In 2006 he became a designer for them.
This is a label that can be very hard to pin down, having a Japanese designer based in New York. Is it Japanese, or Americana, or more probably the ideal mix of the two.
With inspiration coming from hunting gear, workwear, sportswear, uniforms and Americana, Engineered Garments never disappoints with its designs. The quality and attention to detail are outstanding.
